Workforce planning involves the analysis of workforce trends, issues and needs in order to set goals and identify strategies to meet demand for skills, now and into the future. It entails a review of national, regional and enterprise level workforce data, including assessment of your organisation’s workforce profile, skills gaps and forecast of likely supply and demand.
Workforce development is the enactment of strategies, through workforce planning efforts, to ensure ‘right fit’ workers deliver the services aligned to your business plan. This commonly involves a combination of human resource management, organisational development and professional development activities.
CS&HISC provide tools and resources and support for workforce planning and development for community services and health, and work in partnership with industry on a range of workforce development projects – see below.
